What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

I don't want to waste so much money on a CHI and im only going to straighten my hair a few times a month...but i dont want my hair to be damaged that much..what do i do?

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

HUGE............. in the most loving way i can say it, like the old saying goes' You get what you pay for". Do you want to spend alot of money and time for fried hair and split ends, why do think all of your salons and top professionals use them and not the cheap ones, if the cheap ones work don't you think they would buy them and keep the extra profits, the Chi is made not to over heat and burn your hair and you get the fabulous look over and over again, trust me on this one honey don't wast your time or your money on the cheap one you will pay more in the long run with the cheap one and your hair will pay for it in the long run as well, but hey at least you had the courage to ask before you made a mistake, Hope you look Glamours when your done ;] :) :)

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

CHI's are better. My hair stays straight for like 2 days when I use it. And it hasn't damaged my hair.

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

get a 50$ 1 thas the 1 i have and i straiten my hair like 2wice or 3 times a week....works fo me

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

Honey, just purchase the less expensive one. You will enjoy the same results and spend a LOT less...

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

I have to chi and it is sooooooooooooooo much better than the other cheap ones...(believe me i have tried alot of different ones)

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

well a chi is kinda all in the name...it is better than most but there are cheaper ones that come close a good one is you will have to go into sally's to see how much it costs

http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1650/255...

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

ok i TOTALLY kno where ur coming from..i HAD that same problem i had those cheap straightners from target and blah blah blah they didnt work that well but oh well but i found out when i went 2 get a hair cut how badly they had damaged my hair and it was VERY noticable...people ask me how i got it that way all the time and uhh it sucks! so they told me 2 buy a chi..chi's dont damage ur hair make it perfectly straight in minutes! and they get hot soo fast! just get the chi..u'll be glad = )

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

the chi is a brand name and it is also ceramic. the good thing about chi's is that it heats up really quick. other ones that say ceramic are ceramic but can also just be ceramic coated. which is not going to be as good and of course won't last long. it is a good investment in buying a chi straightener because you can also curl your ends out or curl your hair with it as well. you can do a lot with a straightener. just make sure you put some paul mitchell super skinny or redken heat glide on your hair before straightening. it gives it shine and takes out the frizzys and also protects your hair from heat.

What is the difference between a CHI straightener and a $50 ceramic straightener?

As a Stylist, I love using CHI irons and their serum. If you use cheap products in your hair, it's going to look like crap. So please, don't skimp on products for your hair, in the end, it will be all worth it.

CHI Flat iron?

Is it good?

I have medium-length hair and it's thick and curly.

How long is it supposed to take to straighten it?

How many times do you need to go over a small section of hair to make it straight?

CHI Flat iron?

Sedu is a little cheaper.

Chi's do not last long. Don't waste your money, and don't listen to the one's that are telling you it's the best. Sedu is one of the best straighteners out there and it is only $100.

To purcase a Sedu at the cheapest price, go to Folica.com , scroll to the very top and click on Hair Styling. On the left hand side, there will be and A - Z brand list. Find Sedu, click on it, and everything else from there is self - explanitory.

Hope I helped, Merry Christmas!

CHI Flat iron?

Thanks you for picking me as best answerer.

CHI Flat iron?

i have the same type of hair and a chi and it works great! it takes me like 45 min to an hour to do my hair-- but the other i had was a connair and it took me like 2 hrs.

CHI Flat iron?

the chi is awesome works on every thivkness of hair but sometimes if your hairs really thick pull up a section of you hair and straighten the part thats not pulled up then take out the pony tail and straighten that part.

CHI Flat iron?

yes CHI works great especially for curly hair it only takes about 30 sec. to fully heat up.

my mom uses it all the time becasue she has massive curls every other straightner we've tried has not wroked only CHI

so i recommend it :)

CHI Flat iron?

omg i have a chi and im in love of it! my hair is straight but i help my sis and her hair is super curly. it usually only takes a while for it to be straight and dosnt damage your hair that much. what i do it straighten it and then use tigi catwalk camera ready spray. spray it lightly and i swear it works wonders!

CHI Flat iron?

i have the chi flat iron. i bought it for $100.

i really wish id get my money back for it!!!!

but they said No Refunds when i went back.

ok, i have thick and tight puerto rican curls...

1st of all, it takes forever because you have to do one little strand of hair at a time. Its annoying cuz i have so much hair and its so thick...

2nd, it made my hair really straight for like 2 minutes, and then i noticed that it started to divide itself and it started to get wavy... it looked so dry and ugly... it burned my hair!! and when i washed it off, my hair started falling!!

i wouldnt recommend you to get it.

that crap is a waste of money!!!!

CHI Flat iron?

NOOOOOOOOOOO DONT BUY THE chi

CHI Flat iron?

DON'T GET CHI. it will break within 8 months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed.

Chi is being recalled now due to fire hazards. see:

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best produ

i usually wash...apply treseme' straightening serum...straighten...and drench in hair spray?

(ps-should i buy a chi also?)

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

Braid hair and forget it.

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

yea buy a chi it will help that is what i did!

???best answer???

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

Make sure you get a hairspray that is for humidity. CHI Shine Infusion is a really good product to use it help make it shiny, frizzes and protects your hair from thermal heat from irons and dryers. Here's a tip: wash your hair and fix it at night and the next day believe or not it will help to keep your hair from being frizzy from the humidity. Just a thought, hope it helps.

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

in somewhere like that it is hard to keep your hair straight. it probably wont stay straight no matter what you do so just keep doing what your doing. on extra humid days just curl it then it will look great.

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

Have you tried the John Frieda line? It gets humid here too. I had a chi I did not like it as much as my Sassoon from target that cost me $29.00! JF has shampoo and other great stuff. I love a mix of the spray %26amp; loitaion.

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

First of all, use a shampoo that controls frizziness, like Herbal Essences "None of Your Frizziness" shampoo and conditioner (it works really well). When you straighten your hair, DO NOT drench in hair spray, because it's really bad for your hair (it gets all sticky and it'll make your hair fall out). Spray lightly in different areas (especially top of hair) evenly. I recommend John Frieda Frizz-Ease hairspray or John Frieda Secret Weapon straight hair gel. It makes your hair smooth, shiny, and straight, without making it feel like you have a ton of goop on your head.

How can i keep my wavy hair perfectly straight in a humid place like florida? what is the best product to use?

Paul Mitchell gloss drops.. its what they use in salons and it keeps my hair nice and shiny and soft and not frizzy. and it doesn't get stiff or hard like it does with hairspray.

Sedu straightener or a CHI?

k, for christmas, my mom said that she would buy me a good straightener, and i wanted to make sure that its a good one. i want one that is top of the line, best seller, whatever gets veerrryyy hot, quickly heats up, is very durable, (lasts long) and maybe having a maximum price of 150dollars. I searched up "best hair straightener" and i got SEDU as a "best seller". it's 72 watts, and i think i gets as hot as 180-200 degrees. i dont know about a CHI but my cousin is a hair dresser and she has a CHI and she says its reeaally good, but i was wodnering if theyre is something even BETTER than a CHI, please put in links to websites that you may have looked at to answer this question!! thanks soo much! maybe hairstylists can help me with this too!! thanks a bunch! xox

Sedu straightener or a CHI?

The Sedu 1 1/2 inch is the best seller. It also lasts longer than the CHI, which breaks after about 8 months. The Sedu does cost more, about $120, and the CHI costs around $100. Iv'e used both and think that the Sedu is so much better. It's definitely worth the extra $20 because it won't break easily and it keeps hair very healthy. =)

Sedu straightener or a CHI?

Take my adivce-

DON'T get a CHI.

They suck.

One side stops working after 3 months.

If you don't believe me,

read the reviews at folica.com

Sedu straightener or a CHI?

sedu

Sedu straightener or a CHI?

DEFINITELY sedu!

Check this out:

http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_d1...

^3300+ reviews .. mostly ALL positive. I have a Sedu hair straightener and it heaps up very quickly and straightens my hair so well. It's really good value for money and it's unbeatable in my opinion.

In case you're wondering, here are the reviews on CHI (same website):

http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d6...

^400+ reviews with only a 4/5 rating whereas Sedu has reviewed a 4.5+/5 rating with over 3000 reviews. That says a lot.

Sedu straightener or a CHI?

i have a wet 2 staright.

they're great!

they're cheap,

they work for a long time,

they can straighten your hair even if it's wet

(which i don't recommend trying)

and they have like 30 differnent heating levels.

Which hair straightener should I use?

I have "emoish" hair currently. It's extremely thick, and wavy/curly. I want to buy a 1" straightener that's not too expensive(no CHI plz). And I was thinking between one of these two: Conair Ultra Slim Ceramic($15), or Remington Wet2Straight($25)?

Which hair straightener should I use?

my conair straightener is the best straightener i've used, of all my friends (not that my friends an expensive one like chi or paul mitchel). it's the hottest and the smoothest.

dont get that skinny yellow and black one though. i bought that too, it doesn't get nearly as hot and if you have really thick hair you'll just be waisting your time.

i can't find my model online

http://www.amazon.com/Conair-CS25-Slim-C...

this is basically the same one with different colors.

definately get a ceramic straightner they're hotter and smoother.

try to find one that goes about 350 degrees since your hair is so thick.

Which hair straightener should I use?

Remington Wet2Straight. I love mine! It works really well on my hair which is super, super thick. Conairs suck for thick hair. With the Remington, I can do my hair in about 15 minutes! Plus it heats up very fast. Definatly go for the Remington!

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

okay so i have the wet to straight iron and it works fairly well. but my hair is becoming very unhealthy from all the straightening. which on the straightners would be cost effective and keep my hair partially healthy looking? pleasee help. thank you (:

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed.

Chi is being recalled now due to fire hazards. see:

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtm...

Yes, CHI sucks!

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

I love my CHI i cannot live with out it and they have a great warranty in case it breaks. The only way not to damage your hair with a straighting iron is to only do it every other day. And your not suppose to wash your hair every day. The ceramic Tiles on the CHI will help smooth out fly aways too.

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

Partially healthy?ummm THE CHI !!!

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

I recommend the CHI.

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

the chi gets really hot and works great but also any straighteners u use will damage ur hair. i think helping ur hair 2 get more healthy its all in the hair products. if u have split ends try using a bit of pomemade on the ends each day. also dont brush ur hair 2 much when its wet it will cause the hair to break. and also when it wet dont rub the water out of it just blot it so more hairs dont break. to rejuvinate your hair use a protein rich conditioner to repair your hair once every 1 to 2 weeks. and to protect your hair from your straighteners heat use the chi "chi guard" hair spray its about 12 dollars but works great. and to keep your hair in place, shiny, and keep it from flipping up in the humidity use kenra platinum silkening gloss about 14 dollars (tip 4 kenra: its a kind of hair serum so dont apply it near ur roots or it will make ur hair lok oily, as goes for every other hair serum!)

Chi , paul mitchell, or bed head tigi straightner?

Solia works great for me. Chi damaged my hair (Chi has no temperature control)
