What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

GHD professional! available at sephora.com

even though they cost about $200, trust me IT'S WORTH IT!

after trying my friend's, i realized there was no way to go back to my previous straightener and i ordered one!

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

There is no such thing as a good straightener, except a CHI hair straightener. you get your moneys worth with a CHI hair straightener.

I have curly, wavy, frizzy hair and dont forget thick.. But after I use the CHI hair straightener my hair is absolutley wonderful.

Dont waste your money in buying cheap hair straighteners.

Like I said, you will get your moneys worth with whatever you buy.

Buy something cheap = your hair will look terrible.

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

ghd's are the best out there

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

I would use any thick, ceramic straightener.

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

I have a Wet-2-Straight hair straightener and I LOVE IT! I don't know how expensive they are because I didn't buy it, but it would be worth every penny. The only thing I find with it, make sure you towel dry your hair really well before straightening it because if you just get out of the shower and use it right away, it doesn't straighten it just dries. and it looks really bad and poofy and frizzy. If you dry is mostly it works wonders!

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

I use a revlon straightner I think its a 1inch I bought for 25 dollars from target and it works very well.

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

revalon , helan and troy , conair, bespoke labs.hope it helps

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

THE BEST STRAIGHTENER EVER IS REMINGTONS WET TO STRAIGHT!!!!!!!

My hair is Just like yours ... I will never waste my money on another brand ever ever again. you can do it while you hair is wet ... It steams it so it wont burn or fry your hair. They have 2 sizes big and small. Buy it and you will love it I guarentee it.. They are like 25$ at the most...

Good Luck-

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

HAI would be my choice, or the GHD. the chi..isn't really a good hair straightner despite what ppl think..it will not be able to last long unless your hair is thin. reason being chi is only a ceramic overlay not complete ceramic..disappointing...but im glad i did the research b4 i purchased one. it's overrated:) like i told someone else go to folica.com :) i got my HAI from their n my hair is thick %26amp; curly. works wonders.

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

Go to folica.com

and click on sedu

it's the top rated straightener

and it's reviews are so much better than chi

it's the best straightener i've ever owned

and leaves me with the silkiest hair ever.

the reviews really speak for themselves

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

Revlon, Vidal Sasson

What is a good strightener to buy other than a chi?

A SOLIA IS GREAT, ITS ABOUT $88

Its pure Ceramic andTourmaline that controls frizz and adds shine. I have had mine for months and it really does a great job.

I took it to work to show the girls how to curl their hair with a flat iron. Almost all the girls at work have a Chi but after using mine some of them are now going to sell their Chi and buy a SOLIA.

Check out the web site www.folica.com they have tons of reviews and the Top Ten Flat Irons the SOLIA takes the 2nd,4th 5th 7th and 8th spots out of 10 the Sedu takes 1st and 3rd. the Solia comes in different sizes.

What CHI straightener should I get?

I have semi-long wavy thickish hair haha. anyways I want a CHI straightener but I dont know which ones are the best. I want it to be ceramic and preferably more than 1 inch but less then 2. if theres no such size i would want the 1 inch. Help, thanks!

What CHI straightener should I get?

I agree with the first comment. But Chi is good, doesn't leave your hair sticking up as much as sedu, although sedu DOES NOT pull hair. Trust me, get a 1 inch, not any bigger, as only the LENGTH of the straightener is what makes hair get straighter quicker. It's an old trick %26amp; you will regret getting a 1 1/2 in thick straightener, as you can't really do curls, only flips. You will want to make curls later on(you can curl the tips %26amp; comes out SO pretty!), %26amp; the less "thick" the plates are, the cheaper. check out folica.com %26amp; they have great prices for many straighteners(they have many different kind s of CHI's, they have the sedu, %26amp; many other brands including reviews.

What CHI straightener should I get?

DONT GET A CHI

GET A SEDU

THEY KEEP YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT ALL DAY WITH HUMIDITY

What CHI straightener should I get?

the ORIGINAL black one.

its amaaaaaaaaazing.

it works miracles.

What CHI straightener should I get?

The original black chi is THE BEST I have ever used!! I have long and thick curly hair and it does the job every time.

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

i have very very curly puffy hair.

can thinning hair help the back of my hair, its a nightmare, its always sticking up, straightening it with my chi, always gives me great soft straight hair, but the problem is that i want my curly hair back, but in the back, its a nighmare.

can thinning it make it better ?

how much does thinning it in salons cost?

what do they use to thin hair?

please help me :] thank you.

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

i know what you mean. my hair is really curly and ALWAYS gets puffy in the back. but i recently went to the hair salon to get a hair cut and they really thinned it out and i was happy with the results.

thinning totally makes it better, layers also help.

thinning costs the same as a regular haircut, they use a special brush that they comb your hair with.

if your going to get your hair done i would get it done at a college forhair because they are being supervised by professionals and they pay more attention, and its way cheaper.

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

make it straight for about a week after that curl it and when you curl it tie it and it will be very nice

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

I had my hair thinned too. My stylist says its great for people with curly hair because it just takes a lot of the weight off. Normally most salons incorporate thinning with a hair cut... its like getting layers just a little different. They use this razor/scissor looking thing to thin it out and it really is a lot easier to maintain and a lot lighter too

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

My hair is thick and striaght/wavy so i have the same problem during the mornings. But dont thin it. Just get layers.

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

Yes, it does help.

I'm not sure if the lady that does my hair thins it out, but my hair is in long layers and its thinner than without layers.

Ask to see if getting long layers and thinning your hair is the same thing. I think its the same, and then it'll cost as much as a regular hair cut. Since you have curly hair, it'll have to be straightened first and the cost will depends on your hair length. I have long (when straight, past my bra strap), thick hair %26amp; it cost about $55 dollars (without tip). This is to wash, condition, straighten, and cut/trim.

I hope this helps %26amp; good luck!

Can thinning hair help puffy hair ?

Thinning your hair will cause lasting damage. Over time, it will stop being able to grow back as easily. When you get older, you might loose some of your hair, so you will have it be really really thin.

[another] Question about hair straightening?

Right now I have a straightener I got from Walgreens for like $20. I wanted/needed a straightener on a budget so I figured that was the cheapest there so I got it. Well it takes forever to straighten my hair, and my hair always get's caught in is and I can hear it break off. This tells me it really is a bad straightener... I forget the name but I'll add it soon.

So I'm thinking I want a new hair straightener - help!

I always here that the Chi is the best out there, but my hair is very thin so I don't know if that would make it even thinner.

My hair is naturally straight except for ever end flips in different directions. It's really annoying. And I have a lot of frizz too (because every hair that is shorter than the rest flips outwards, and I have alot of that so yeah.

Any suggestions? I want a good straightener that doesn't take forever, doesn't break my hair, and doesn't cause frizz/that fixes frizz. Or something close.

Thanks!

[another] Question about hair straightening?

The best product to spray on before straightening is Redken spray starch, it works like a hairspray when it gets heated on the hair. Helps create straight hair and keep the hold in all day long. As for a flat iron- I would go to a beauty supply store open to the public such as Sally's. You won't be spending big bucks like for the Chi but you will get a nice flat iron that has great temp. settings for your hair and one that waon't break the hair. I do hair for a living and in the salon I use a really expensive one since I am doing hair all day, but for at home this is what I use and love it.

[another] Question about hair straightening?

i use conair and i have to let it heat up for about 5-10 minutes and then divide your hair in half and do half first and make sure every piece is straight and then do the other half. put some garnier fructis smoothing cream in it, it helpss =) good luck

[another] Question about hair straightening?

I have the chi and its great but i have thick hair, so maybe it wouldnt work for you, try a midgrade(walmart $30-40) ceramic straightener (always use a straightening product before you use the iron that could be why your hair is thining).

[another] Question about hair straightening?

I love love love the wet 2 straight straightener by Remington. I never use it when my hair is wet, but I use it on the highest heat which is 30 and it works soooo good. It was like 20-25 bucks for it. Cheap and amazing :] Also look for str8, you might have to go to a salon for it. It's by Rusk and it's a spray you use before straightening

[another] Question about hair straightening?

ehh, i can suggest a new straightener. the Remmington Wet To Straight works wonders. no caught hair, it heats up really quickly, and it gets really hott. it works on even the thickest hair :]

[another] Question about hair straightening?

well i dont really think its the flat iron, trust me on this, i straighten my hair all the time. dont flatten it every day because it burns your hair and breaks if off, make sure you have it turned all the way up and try to get the flat iron that is hard in the center rather than the soft one, but most likely you would have to pay more for a good one...i got mines on sale for 17.99

[another] Question about hair straightening?

try a chi straightener, those are really good:)

for the protecting thing, look in a drug store, i dont really know any specfic type of brands sorry:)

hope it helps

xx

[another] Question about hair straightening?

i know i bougt one at wallgreens too is conair is a red and silver one it sucks really!!!!!!!!!! it breaks hair what i did was that i got an haircut (they choped of all the broken hair) and then i bough an leave in conditioner that haves vitamins and prevent slit ends. and i got my hair normal again!!!!!!!!!!!!

chaoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(K)

[another] Question about hair straightening?

This question needs to include what type of hair you have. If its black ethnic hair, then your needs are very different. If its not ethnic than you do not need chemicals....

I will state up front that I have my areas of specialty...ethnic hair is not one of them and I would rather let another who is more knowledgble.....Its not that I wouldn't like to help, its just that I went to beauty school in 1990-1991 in Maine and I feel as though I missed out on that training, I only know the basics....

If its regular hair on a caucasian then you shouldn't be using chemical straighteners.....that is not the problem. If its fairly straight to begin with then you should begin with a good undercut, i.e. like a bob straight across back.....

I use the chi products on occasion however having fine thin hair myself the following products are awesome...

Paul Mitchell Mouse

Joico, Styling Lotion, KMS SHINE SERUM which comes in spray or liquid. I find the chi too heavy for me personally.....

I would use pro products, Matrix, Joico, etc....

From there it is simply a matter of training your undercut, either by blow drying focusing on the problem areas and follow up with either a flat iron or large barrel curling iron....

An undercut directs the hair in the correct direction, under at the ends....If its easy just train with a couple large rollers that will only form about a half of curl...i.e no curl, just direction....

I really hope this helps............

[another] Question about hair straightening?

Why wont u just go get your hair flat iron for only like 15.00 or let one of your friends do it

Good luck

[another] Question about hair straightening?

ok this is the best straightener out there but it costs. its called japanese hair straightening and it lasts for a year and your hair is so soft and shiny and like a waterfall of silk. i swear! no matter how many times you wash it it always comes out the same ..straight-shiny-silky-and soft, oh yeah, and there is absolutely no frizz.

[another] Question about hair straightening?

i have coarse thick curly hair and i had every straightener i can name and the one that works the best is conair. its cheap bout 20-25 dollars. dont buy anything cheap if you dont have to. beauty isnt cheap

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

I want to buy my daughter one for her birthday. She has really thick curly and dry hair and she used to use the True-Ceramic-Pro flat iron everyday which worked well, but it recently broke.

I've heard little about CHI and was hoping you could share some of your opinions on the product and whether or not it would be good for those with curly %26amp; dry hair.

Thank you!

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

it supppppperrrr cool :D

i love it

i have thick hair too

my mom bought it for me

since then i'm in love with it :D

u should deffinitely buy one for ur daughter she'll love it!!!! :D

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

It totally rocks! (I have wildly out of control hair)

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

i guess they okay

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

They are really expensive $127 @ Target, but they are supposed to be the best!

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

That's funny you ask because I was just looking at them... unfortunately I can't give you any first hand advice, but I dont suggest spending so much money on a hair straightener. They are around $140 and I have the next step down (i think) which is like $45... BIG difference. Think about this: How much difference will it really make? Not that much...

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

My friend has one and she loves it. I have some iron from Japan that I love. Just be prepared to fork out $120-$180 for one but it should last forever.

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

no idea but GHD are amazing

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

I can't really tell you, because I just bought it from ebay, I haven't recieved it yet :D

My friend has a CHI and I tried it once and it ROCKS!

If you're buying it as a present, buy the red one with hearts on it, looks cool. http://cgi.ebay.com/CHI-Special-LIMITED-...

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

TIHGht!

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

i have thick dry curly hair and I love my chi. It is the best hair product I have. The only concern is that it can get very hot, so you have to be careful. They do come with a temperature control so that you can monitor how hot it gets. I make sure to use a leave in conditioner. Before my chi I had to blow dry my hair and then flat iron it, but now i can air dry then use the iron to flatten it. So the combo of ceramic plates and not having to blow dry has really helped to improve the condition of my hair when I iron it alot.

Joe's wife

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

The CHI can be considered one of the most versatile Hairstyling Irons on the market today.

The CHI's ergonomic design allows the user to flip hair up or curl it under with a twist of the wrist. The CHI is ideal for straightening and smoothing the hair while the ceramic plates seal in natural moisture. It's great to use prior to a Dry Haircut. The ceramic coated paddles help prevent scorching hair color and helps reduce styling product build-up.

Featuring an extra long swivel cord to prevent tangling, the CHI has a concealed on-off switch inside the handle to prevent accidentally turning the unit off when in use. The heat paddles are recessed from the edges to prevent skin burns. Will automatically heat up in less than 10 seconds.

What do you think of CHI flat irons?

Curly and thick hair mostly. It works THE BEST ever! It works perfect on me :D

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

I have really cury hair, and whenever it goes near heat POOF it totally frizzes out. I already have CHI straightening serum, and a really good crematic straightener. I just need directions, please step by step, no websites! I just need directions, starting after i get out of the shower.

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

1. Take a shower

2. Sleep on hair wet

3. Wake up and Straighten your hair

Good luck.

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

Sleep with your hair wet.

Wake up, straighten it.

Then add your anti-frizz stuff.

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

You have to use an anti frizz product first. Blow dry your hair until totally dry. Take your hair in sections. For example pull half of your up in a clip and as you straighten sections, keep letting more hair out of your clip until completion.

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

after u get outa the shower but in and anti frizz jell they blow dry ur hair cuz when u blow dry it it helps it from curllying. ( whn blowdrying ur hair blow dry it in sections) then after ur hair is completly dry use a seraamic straghtner, It works for me i hhope it works for u =]

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

ummm you cant take a shower and before it puffs up again brush it and then dry it and then you can straiten it too

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

GHD hair straightners are also good

this is what i do and it works for me!

1. towel dry my hair a bit.

2.put heat protective cream on my hair.

3.blow dry my hair so its not soo wet.

4.let it air dry the rest.

5. i then put some more product in

6. the start straightnening! i put my hair into little sections with clips, its easier that way. dont keep the straightner still, but dont go very fast or extremley slow just in between!

7. when ive done all of it i then put a shine surum on it and brush through and make sure i haven't mised any bits!

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

Are you afraid of being called a frizzy haired -oh that's right... people don't want to talk about that anymore.

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

Ok, well I know what you're talking about I have the same problem. First of all if you dont already do so, shampoo twice, but make sure you wash it out. Its good for curly hair. Then once out of the shower towel dry your hair. I'm also gonna tell ya, that straightening serum is not gonna be enough, sorry. I would go out and buy a de-volumizer, i suggest John Frieda's DownPlay, it works great for poofy hair. If you dont get it, that's your choice. Also I suggest using some sort of serum to protect your hair from the heat of the flat iron, also get it/don't,your choice. Then put however much of that straightening serum you need into your hair. Then if you have one, use a round brush to blow dry your hair, or you can sleep on it, but blow drying it will make it straighter. Then just turn your straightener on whatever heat you need and straighten your hair, then use a little bit of hairspray to make it stay.

I know its high-maintenance,but its worth it in the end.

Hope this helped!

How do i straighten really curly frizzy hair???????

Ok iI have the same problems so I can give you some good advice (or atleast I hope lol). I also own a CHI straigtener and then I got the Farouk Silk serum (which is the best product I have ever found and helps protect you hair from heat damage) Ok here are the steps:

1) Wash and condition hair in shower (don't completely rinse all conditioner out, leave a little but not to much or you will end up with oily hair) tip: try using Thermasilk shampoo and conditioner it is really good for using with heating products like blow dryer and straighteners etc.

2) Towel dry your hair and then blow dry your hair. Stop blow drying about half way through and then add some of your serum (of any sort that you want to use) and brush very well. Finish blow drying.

3) Once your hair is COMPLETELY dry add some more of your serum (depending on you hair length use about a dime sized amount in the palm of your hand and rub between you hands and then smooth throught your hair thoroghly. Brush your hair again to get as many tangles out as possible.

4) Section out you hair using hair clips and then use small amounts of hair to start straightening. Tip: I would start with the back of your hair that way when you are completly done straightening all of your hair you can go back over and do touch ups.

5) When you are done if you still have some friz (which you shouldn't but it is possible) Use a very small dab of your serum to smooth out your hair

Hope this helps you out!

Wat is the BEST product 4 straightining super curly hair?

k i have really curly hair and i have 2 good straighteners the maxie glide and the chi but when i straighten it the next morning its wavy and later on in the day its frizzy so wat do yall recomend??? that works really good

Wat is the BEST product 4 straightining super curly hair?

I use garnier frizz free formula after I wash my hair and then before styling use pink lotion that helps. The maxiglide is great for curly hair. I love it.

Wat is the BEST product 4 straightining super curly hair?

- Go curly! Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel, a leave in cream, and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sodium laureth sulfate or anything close to that). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone are examples). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

- Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it wil disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Make sure gel is evenly distributed everywhere in your hair. If you use too much you can always scrunch out the crunchy texture later.

- Use paper towels or an old t-shirt to gently scrunch some of the water out (generic towels can make hair frizz). You can either let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Dry until your hair is almost dry, and then let air dry the last bit. Do not touch the hair while it is air drying or it will frizz!

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Desert Essence Organics Italian Red Grape Conditioner (found at health food/organic stores) or Activate Hydrating Conditioner (drugstore). The combo of products that I use daily is L'Oreal Out of Bed Weightless Texturizer (comes in a black-colored tub) and then Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Gel or Body Envy Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites. The products I recommended are my personal favorites and contain no silicones.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This may take a couple weeks to begin working. Before you decide to quit shampoo, do a final cleanse with shampoo and stop the use of any products with silicones in them. Hope this helps!

Curly girl by Loirane Massey

Wat is the BEST product 4 straightining super curly hair?

I recommend this: shampoo and condition with Redken Smooth Down shampoo and conditioner. (It will prep your hair for straightening). Then use AG Set It Straight or Redken Align - put a dime sized amount in while the hair is wet and then blowdry. Before you flat iron, once the hair is dry, spray on Redken Hot Sets on each section, then flat iron with the Chi iron, taking small sections and running the comb through it as you go. When you are finished, put TiGi After Party over the whole thing and spray with AG Aerodynamics or Redken Quickdry hairspray. It will be perfect.
