Straighted damaged hair.?

i straighten my hair usually every 2 days and sometimes everyday. i use loreal heat protectent too. but now my hairs starting to feel damaged and dry. what can i do to my hair over the summer to make it go back to the soft hair i had.

i heard baby oil, olive oil, aussie 3 minute treatment, dove shampoo work. i have never tried these things so i was wondering if someone can tell me what can i do for my damaged hair.

also is the chi straightener better for your hair then other ceramic ones? and what are other great heat protectant products?

instead of straightening sometimes i think just scrunching it looks nice but it still gets kinda frizz. idk why.

thanks for all the help!

Straighted damaged hair.?

what you need to do right now is read :

THE 10 habits THAT DESTROY AND DAMAGE YOUR HAIR:

1) Alcoholism

2) FIA (flat Iron addiction)

3) Anorexia/Bullimia

4) Smoking Weed

5) Boxed Hair ColorKits

6) Crash Dieting

7) Shampoo with SLS in ingredients

8) Stressful daily living

9) NO exercise

10) Bleach overlapping

These are proven by my clinic

and it sounds as though # 2 is a problem for you......

you must get rid of the flat Iron.

I know that's hard to hear but it is a new problem....and one that has reached epidemic proportions.

Try this:

Put it away for one month.

Deep 'overnight' condition your hair 1 - 2 nights every week............as it explains on my blog

killerstrands.blogspot.com

in 30 days email me, and tell me what the difference is.

Straighted damaged hair.?

don't forget to cut your split ends...

Straighted damaged hair.?

I have the same problem as you do. I have to straighten my hair almost every day, otherwise my hair will go puffy and kinky. Its so anooying because my hair isnt naturally straight.

I think it is best to sometimes leave off the straightening irons and put loads of leave in conditioner through the hair to nourish the hair in hot weather. Tie the hair in a ponytail and put lots of spray throught the ends.

Im not sure whether chi are the best. I heard GHD are good although i dont own a pair, but i though that all straighteners damage the hair, so im confused. I think ceremaic are the best, so dont get thermoplastic ones or anything else.

Coconut oil condioner is said to be very god for dry/damaged hair. You might also want to try garnier fructus fortyfying shampoos/ conditioners as well as well as a deep condiioning intensive treatment mask. Most brands do one of these.

Straighted damaged hair.?

I have the same problem. I used VIVE PRO (the light pink glossy pearl one) for medium to long damaged hair shampoo %26amp; conditioner. I have to straighten my hair almost every day and I use one of the heat protectants from regis salon that i got at a hair cutting salon.

PS. I have a chi straightener and it's not that great.

Straighted damaged hair.?

Hair straightening always leads to damage if you don't give the proper care that your hair needs. I used to straighten my hair every day for 2 weeks, and immediately I noticed a change in the moisture of my hair. My hair was dry and brittle and split ends began forming. I tried a lot of different products and different straightening strategies on my hair, but only a few worked.

The best one was deep conditioning. Deep conditioning is a process in which you apply a deep hair conditioner (preferably Frizz-Zero Hair Deep Conditioning Treatment by John Freida) to your damp after you shampoo your hair. You have to massage it from the roots of your hair to the ends. Wait 10 minutes with the conditioner in your hair, then rinse it out. This works very well. Deep conditioning is a process that revitalizes your dry, damaged hair and gives it the proper nutrients to restore it. You will definitely notice the difference and not feel guilty about straightening your hair.

Also, about your hair straightener problem, I know that a Sedu Hair straightener iis very effective and leaves your hair smoothe and silky and moist. The problem is that these straighteners are usually over 200 dollars, which is why the hair damaging straighteners are usually cheaper.

CHI straighteners??

I was wondering...

1- What's the difference between the original model and the Farouk model?

2- What are some advantages and disadvantages of these straighteners?

and

3- Will a CHI straightener work on frizzy, wavy, chlorine damaged hair, and if so, which one should I get?

Thank you thank you thank you! :)

CHI straighteners??

1. Farouk is the name of the company that manufactures Chi products. So there is no "original" model and then the "farouk" model. They are the same.

2. The advantage to this flat iron is that it uses negative ions and ceramic plates to straighten the hair at high temperatures without damaging the hair and stripping it of moisture. Also, to a professional stylist, it's advantage is that is heats up very quickly, and can stay at a high temperature for a very long period of time. (In other words, we can keep it turned on all day and it won't hurt anything)

A disadvantage would be that they don't have heat settings on most of the models, it's either on or off. However, I believe the ones they are producing now can be set to either High or Low. Other than that, there aren't too many disadvantages to these irons. They won't damage your hair like some other irons, and they are durable and long-lasting.

3. Yes, they work on all hair types from super tight coarse curls to super straight fine hair that just needs to be smoothed. However, I would recommend using a nice clarifying shampoo once a week for chlorine damaged hair (I really like Shampoo Three by Paul Mitchell). Here are some other tips: Never use on anything other than totally dry hair. If your hair is damp at all, you WILL fry it. Also, use a heat protector spray, like Redken Fabricate or Matrix Iron Smoother on the hair before flat ironing, but avoid using any other kind of products (gel, mouse, hairspray) BEFORE flat ironing. If you do, you will get product buildup on the iron, and your hair can become very damaged. However, it's 100% okay to use hairspray or other products AFTER you are done straightening.

In conclusion, I highly recommend getting a Chi iron, and for you I would suggest getting the 1 or 1 1/2 inch size so that you can work with smaller sections of hair to get the smoothest and straightest style possible. A Chi really is worth the investment. You will love it. Good luck!

CHI straighteners??

I dont know any of those questions but I have really wavy curly and frizzy hair and I shampoo it with Pantene Pro-V EXTRA staright shampoo and them comb blow dry it with a round brush. It starightens your hair really good.

CHI straighteners??

A CHI flat iron is top of the line in the world of hairstyling. it will and can do anything you want it too. If your hair is what you described in question 3, by all means, get a CHI you'll be surprised. My suggestion is to always use a flat iron spray/thermal protective spray before you use any type of flat iron. It protects your hair from extereme heat.

The only disadvantage I can think of is that I have normal color treated hair. I have hair that all stylist dream about, it will do anything - anything. Therefore, a CHI, I feel is too hot for my hair. I have used it on clients with hair as you described in your question and they loved it!!

I hope this helps. If you would like other stylist opinions, check out my yahoo! group cosmoinfo2006 and post your question there, they could give you lots of insight.

BTW, don't use pantene, it leaves a waxy build up on your hair over time. You know the shine they promise in their product? it's wax.

CHI straighteners??

1 i am not sure

2 A advantage is a heats up in a minute and makes my curly frizzy hair stick straight in under 20 minutes

3 Yep it will work this is a great product i recommend it !

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

I have a pretty good straightner it only takes a minute to heat up,but i have really curly and frizzy hair. And it takes me like an hour to straighten it , should i get a chi if so then why

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

Do NOT get CHI. my family went thru 5 CHI in 3 yrs. Chi breaks within a few months and you have to pay $35 plus shipping to get it fixed. Their warranty is worthless!

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission just announced a recall of Chi flat irons due to fire and burn hazards:

CHI sucks!

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

yes!

they work amazing i have the same problem, i had lots of layers in my hair and because of my old starightner it just kept drying out my hair, the chi one will cover up the split ends and make it healthier without taking all the moisture out, my hair dresser reccomended it to me, i would try it

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

0MG! chyeah it is.. i have curly hair to (: and i bought the chi and it works sooo good. but only buy it if you or anyone else close to you knows how to use it lol. but make sure not to use it too much! cuz it can dry out your hairr.

hope ive helped ya (; %26lt;3

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

No get a chi And get pretty hair

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

I think you can buy good straighter that are not chi but it's worth it...

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

yes i have one it helped my life so much

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

I never thought I would find a straightener that could tame my hair the way I wanted. I bought many cheap straightener's over the years and nothing compares to my CHI. NOTHING!! You have to buy it, no matter how frizzy your hair is, it works!!! Good Luck!

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

YES YES YES!!!

I had a cheap one that I got from Walmart and I upgraded to the CHI and i was amazed!

It keeps your hair straighter for longer and it takes like 20 to 30 min. to straighten my hair and i have CURLY hair, you also get to change the temp. if you want to. It is great I would totally recomend it to anyone!

I hope I helped and good luck! =]

Is it really worth the extra money to get a chi?

well, in the mall; they said chi is a really good straightener, but i know what you can do beside buy it because i have curly hair and frizzyish. It takes me only 20 minutes to 30 to straighten it.

Here are the products I use::

1.Chi-straighten gel called Infra gel

2.Moose by L'oreal paris-studio line

3.Hairspray Pantene style-classic unsented

4.Straighten Gel-TRESenne(used by professionals)

5.AnitFrizz Shiner-REDKEN(says fresh curls)

I put a little of each rub it throw my fingers and run it threw my hair. Don't put to much it will look greasey and get hard. Don't over do the moose especially. Then just brush your hair threw and threw it should should start to de curl. Like but first just let it sit in your hair before you brush it. Let it like sit so you don't brush it all out. While your straightening it spray a little of the hairstyle on a wide tooth comb and run it threw your hair. It helps maintain it straight.

If you straighten it a lot to make your hair smooth heres an extra tip!:

When your hair is damp put conditioner in your hair and wrap you hair in ciram-wrap. I know it sounds funny but it helps you hair get smooth. Then this is opional that you get a blow drier and blow dry the top of the ciram-wrap but not like right next to it you'll set it a fire. Like a foot away. Then after wash your hair out because with all the conditioner it will cause dandriff. I don't know how this help but it does.

~Not making this up Mom is a hair dresser and has done this before.

I hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!

How hot does the JDL Ceramic Hair Straightener Flat Iron Pink get and is it worth buying?

I need a hair straightener that works everybody says that Chi straighteners break after a year! I am willing to pay $65.00 for it but it needs to get really hot and straighten hair fast!! If you have any suggestions please help!!!

How hot does the JDL Ceramic Hair Straightener Flat Iron Pink get and is it worth buying?

the chi doesnt break after a year ive had mine for about 2 years and it didnt break thats just a myth. you should get the chi!

=]

How hot does the JDL Ceramic Hair Straightener Flat Iron Pink get and is it worth buying?

I think that if you want to try the JDL straightener u should try it!

I myself am buying a CHI hair straightener, because it really convinces me!

Good luck, and if I were u I would go for the CHI!

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

i like using it nearly daily...so any advises(i ve got curly hair and i need to make it straight coz it suits me!!)

and wat kind of protection i should use?

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

1st think about how strong the hair really is! the iron heats up to aprox 375-400 degrees so Wow! the hair can really tolerate alot of heat! if we touch our skin with this iron well, u know the result... yes, everyday use will eventually cause a breakdown of the hair, especially if there is hilites on the hair, the best help is to use the thermal protecting sprays before ironing like AQUAGE THERMAL PROTECT SPRAY AND THEY ALSO JUST CAME OUT WITH A SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER LINE CALLED STRENGTHENING this is perfect for fine flat ironed hair. give the hair a break from the iron any chance u can, but by using good products and trimming the dead ends reguarly 6-8 weeks, u can continue to enjoy ur flat ironed look!

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

It dries your hair. And your hair loses its natural body.

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

It can leave a nasty burn when applied to your nose.

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

I also use a flat iron almost daily because I have wavy hair. Chi makes products you can use on your hair prior to straightening it that help alot. I also just started using Paul Brown Hawaii hair care and its really helped to restore alot of moisture to my hair.

But I've found the best way to get away without using my flat iron every morning is to sleep with a silk scarf on my head, that way my hair just needs brushing out, a little shine serum and I'm good to go!

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

it could burn you

Wat damage does the hair iron cause?(i mean the chi iron)?

Its really damaging actually, but there is stuff you can do to help it.

Try using a straightener that is ionic/ceramic or hydrating, or a combination of all three. Always, always use a heat defense spray, there are loads out there and nearly every brand has one, use a brand you trust, and better yet, if you can find one specifically for hair irons/straighteners, get that one, use it every time.
