Chi straightener??

ok well hopefully my mom will let me get on off ebay.

but like shes all "all straighteners work the exact same. they just use heat, so your hair will end up the exact same (right now poofy and blehh) whether you straighten it with a chi or a $10 straightener"

so basically she is saying that the chi will make no difference in my hair..

is that true?? i dont think it is.. =\

Cheaper Straighteners take up to 1/2 hour to heat where as the expensive one takes me 30 seconds

Cheaper ones can fry your hair immediatly, where as a more expensive one will protect your hair a little better

Cheaper ones break down quickly, expensive ones will last

Cheaper ones cause frizz, expensive ones can help rid you of it.

The level of damage is imcomparable chi will protect your hair.

All in all a Chi is worth the money!

there really aren't that many products that don't make differences to your hair. that chi straightener will straighten your hair, but it likely will damge it and your roots as well

No, Chi's are way better and so are sedu's. They are higher quality, they not only straighten your hair but they make it shiny and flat too. They work on any style hair. A $10 straightener won't do anything, your mom doesn't know what she's talking about.

oh no no no no. it all depends on the type of straightner. i have the same problem. really curly and sorta poofy. the chi ones are like the best vs. a $10 one. the cheaper one will take longer for you to straighten your hair and its not as good. the more expensive one can straighten your hair in more than half the time than the cheaper one [if that made any sense] the chi makes ALL the difference in ur hair ya its like 100 bucks but its tottaly worth it.

NO!!! It's soo not true (sorry). Chi straighteners work like magic. I had a cheap vidal sasoon one but then it broke so my mom bought me a chi. It straightens in about half the time and it makes your hair really smooth and glossy. I have curly/wavy hair too so you know it works! Good luck and I hope your mom lets you get one!

the chi is amazing and works ten times better than any other straightener on the market. bad thing about them is don't drop it at all it will break into a million pieces.

NO! That is not true at all because not all straighteners get hot enough!

i have used a $15 straightener and a $100dollar straightener and trust me, the chi worked soooo much better!!!

The chi, solia, sedu and other expensive irons work better because they get hotter (up to 450 degrees)

Most cheap straighteners will only get up to 250-350 degrees, that's why they dont work as well.

I have used alot of straighteners in my time and the chi or solia are definitely the best.

Oh yes and ebay is a great place to get them!

I started with cheap straighteners, and I now have a chi. The cheaper ones do not last, I had to buy 3. Eventually, they all stop heating and stay kind of cool. They lasted on an average of 6-9 months. The Chi has lasted so far for 1 1/2 years and is still going strong. My hairdresser told me that the chi has a solid ceramic peice that will never wear down, and that is why it is always hot. They have a patent on the solid ceramic. All the others that say ceramic are not solid.

it isnt true chi has special heat rays they arent hotter just better and healthier for ur hair so you'll end up with smooth straight natural hair in the end unlike $10 ones which burn ur hair after u use it 5 times. PLEEZ TELL YOUR MOM THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope she'll let ya get it!!

Trust me it makes a huge difference. U can't compare a CHI to sme $10 dollar straightner from walgreens. They do all use heat but the CHI's heat is much higher meaning your hair gets much straightner. I wonder if she's saying this because of the price? If so go to Sally's website and get the generic one. It works just the same but it's only $80 which is a heck of alot cheaper than the CHI. Good Luck!!

i have a chi flat iron and i love it. i bought mine for about $160. it works terrific. there is a difference between flat ironing your hair with a $10 conair than a $180 chi. it's all about quality. chi delivers maximum heat (up to 400 degrees), the iron is made of a stone, or a type of ceramic material that makes your hair shiny/glossy looking leaving it with a smooth texture. your not gonna get those results from a $10 conair. go with chi, ghd is also good. ghd is much more expensive though.

ok look now that is true but here's the catch a 10 dollar straightener does not nesisarally mean it will starighten it all the way i mean it kinda does leave ur hair poofy and bleh trust me it sux! now a chi i dont have one but my bestie does and it is absolutly amazing! it starightens ur hair perfectly now if you really want this straightener then u gotta fight for what u want well good luck and must 閳?kenzie ;)

look, a good flat iron is an investment. you would not iron a silk shirt and comparatively speaking your hair is like silk. i recommend a good quality iron. a chi is good but any higher quality ceramic iron will work. also, use good heat protecting products.

I have used many different types on straighteners and the only one that works for me is the chi. I think there is a big difference between a 10 dollar straightener and a chi. Also if you are looking for something a little bit cheaper than the chi try hot tools it works pretty well but the chi is the best one =)

Well,I'm not disrespecting your Mom nor should you,but yesterday I heard from a stylist;that a Chi is the best straighter. My daughter has curly hair and I'm buying her one,when I can afford it;so for now she will use the one she has. Hope this has helped!
