im not sure but no matter wut temp it is u can controle it by how fast u use it and how much hair u use at once i have one and it works grate

YES! yes there is, I was just ebaying it actually. You can get a 2" Chi that has a variable control from 180-450 ... I am pretty damn definite about that. But is that the best iron you can get? Am still trying to figure out myself. Goodluck
