okay i have a conai staightener, it cost ... 70 dollars?
and then i start hearing all these things about a chi striaghtener.
whats the difference?
well when i staighten my hair witht he conair, afterwards it is staight, but dry like straw
whats so good about the chi? will it not dry my hair? well it let my hair flat isntead of letting it stick striaght up liek teh conair does?
Difference between conair and chi straightener?
I recently bought a CHI and it's so much better. (My previous one was a conair.)
It leaves your hair silky and soft.
It's healthier for your hair.
It holds the straight in for a lot longer (even in humidity)
It heats up faster and straightens faster.
With any irons, even the ceramic ones, you should use a product before you straighten to help protect your hair. I use Matrix lite styling creme since that is what they use where I get my hair cut, but I know they have a similar version by Suave, which is what I buy my shampoo in. It's in an orange bottle, and even says compare to Matrix. I've heard Thermasilk is really good too.
It's more expensive than ones you will find at stores like Wal-Mart, but it's really worth it.
PS - I found my CHI on amazon.com for about $80, one of the cheapest prices I could find with a reliable site.

Price. I have chi and it cost $100 but it works really well and comes with hair protectant sprays and blah blah

I have a chi. i couldn't tell you exactly whats different in how they're made, but i can tell you than Chi's the best straightener for your hair... it will dry it out, but i glides over your hair better and you hair doensn't get so fried. its made of a different kind of metal, i know that... and it doesn't have different heat settings like a conair. its a better straightener. worth the cost

I have a CHI and I love it!
I'm not exactly sure of the difference, but the CHI is ceramic and the Conair may not be. I'm sure the Conair is still good but it may also be the shampoo/conditioner you use that makes your hair dry. Try using a protective spray that will keep the Conair from drying your hair out.
