I have very coarse and curly, long hair. I like to straighten my hair occasionally (with my new Chi - yay)...however, it takes me 2 hours minimum to get it done good. What sucks is that the second water (rain, perspiration - anything) touches it, it's curly again. Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for a few days? I'd like to wear it straight during the week (less hassle for work, trust me) then wash it and restraighten on the weekends? Is that gross? Unhealthy? I'm used to washing it daily when it's curly - for maintenance sake.

Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
Well, it's gross. Try to wash/style during the night to get it perfect when you have the time.
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
no its not gross or unhealthy. as long as it doesnt have too much buildup and it doesnt look greasy. i do it too. twice a week is healthy. washing it too much can mess it up. good luck!

for your type of hair.. i dont think it would be soo bad.
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
Because you're hair is coarse and you choose to straighten it -- I would only wash weekly and use a deep conditioner. You could always brush some baking soda through your hair if it gets smelly or oily.
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
As long as you dont have oily hair, its quite ok!
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
If your hair doesn't get so oily, I say go for it. Anyways it's not a good idea to wash your hair everyday because you might get lice.
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
as long as it isn't greasy I don't see a problem. If it looks greasy that means it's dirty and you'll appear dirty to everyone else. I have oily hair and I have to wash my hair every single day but I have a friend with really really tight corkscrew curls and she only washes her hair every 3 days. If she goes the 4th day it looks gross.

I think that washing your hair so much could dry it out. I know that applying all that heat to your hair can break it off. But, it is important to wash it and keep it healthy. Just don't wash it so often and use a good moisture-rich leave in conditioner.
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
No. I've been doing hair for over thirty years and I have clients that go a full week (6) days before washing. The only thing you have to remember is that when you do wash really get in there and scrub like crazy to make sure it clean.
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
no- your hair might look greasy and you don't see it though also, if you don't wash your hair for a long enough time, it gets really dried out (you should still take a shower- just use a shower cap) also, try getting pantene (straight shampoo) and an anti-frizz shampoo and mix them together (also get the conditioner and mix those together) this should tame your hair a little
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
It depends on how greasy your hair is. I have thick and slightly wavy long hair and I've gone that long without washing it before and you couldn't even tell. Good luck figuring things out!
Is it unhealthy to NOT wash my hair for 5 days?
It is not gross, it's actually healthy for your hair. The natural oils of your hair will help moisturize your hair which is very good. But you need to start shampooing soon before you get dandruff.
