As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Worst: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, DO not buy them.

Yes buy the ceramic straightener err whatever.

It works great!

:)

And you're hair will stay straight for like 2 days so you only have to straighten and wash every other!

:D

i have the chi.. personally to me its worth the money.. i got mine on ebay for 80 bucks brand new 2" ceramic... its stays str8 for like a whole week... and the chi oil is perfect with it... BUT the best cheap str8ner is at walmart. its Revoln ceramic str8ner only $17.00 and change... best cheap str8ner out there !

well i use this conair one...it cost $30 but i got it like 50% off..its works great i iron my hair everytime i wash it (which is like every 2-3 days) it lasts me all that time unless its really humid out %26gt;_%26lt; it doesnt damage my hair or anything, considering i dye it black every month or so and blow dry and everything... so go ceramic =)
